This baseball program is for advanced players who would like to compete in leagues and tournaments. Commonly this age group plays about 25 - 30 baseball games in a summer season ( April 1st thru July 31st). In addition, this age group normally participates in two to three tournaments per season, and one of them is oftentimes out of town. There are several leagues that each individual team can play in, and the determination of which league, how many tournaments, where the tournaments are located, how much travel is involved, is a discussion and decision that is made between the coaching staff and parent group.
 
Select U8 baseball is relatively new to Waukesha.  The Firebirds are proud to be a part of providing higher level baseball for younger players.  In addition, there are some qualified U8 players on our U9 select baseball teams. For highly advanced younger players, it is an opportunity to play at an elevated level, with the decision at the end of the season to stay with the current team, or possibly stay at the U9 level with an upcoming team.
Yearly “tryouts” are provided for this program.  Normally in late July or early August, these teams are put together with skilled baseball players interested in playing in a Firebirds uniform from the entire Waukesha County area.
